Learning to dream

Safe and small and not dreaming at all.

Make Your Creative Dreams Real. Sark

The above quote has been sitting as a draft since January 21, 2015.

So much has happened since I found those words.

I am happy to report I took them to heart and got busy learning to dream.

This year has been about acting on those creative dreams.

This Next Step is now a book publisher.

I never saw that coming when I purchased the domain name back in 2013. It is hard for me to acknowledge it’s going on six long years since I came up with the very fuzzy idea of exploring artistic and creative pursuits as I moved toward retirement.

At that time I imagined I would continue working in the tech world, possibly as a consultant, learn to code and make apps, and maybe dabble in painting. As it turned out, spending time painting led to the discovery of the path I should have been on all along. It took a while, but I eventually walked away from the safe and small tech world and haven’t looked back since.

This afternoon my post office box contained a small daily journal that I designed and self-published. This next step in the journey has me so excited. My first novel will hopefully follow within the next three months.

I never, ever imagined this would happen.

All it took was six years and taking that first small step.
