active imagination embraced

Coming to a close

The past couple of years have been about letting go of ideas that I thought I wanted to do, but actually didn’t. On December 31 I’ll let go of yet another idea and close the ETSY shop I opened in 2013 thinking I’d attempt to become crafty in retirement.

Nope. Still not crafty.

This past week it became abundantly clear that I do not enjoy the actual assembly of the items I thought I wanted to sell.

Assembly, the work of crafting on a larger scale, does not bring me joy.

On the other hand, the idea behind the craft is still valid. The original idea was to add a little appreciation to my life. That idea still brings joy, but the way I was going about it has never quite fit properly.

Moving into the new year I’m keeping the door open to designing items, but will use an online service create and sell them.

And that, for now, brings me joy.
