Happiness

And for me, the real secret to enjoying life, beating unhappiness, and beginning to reverse depression was all about playing more in life.

The quest to find and be successful at a new business became intense.  What started as a happy idea about what I would like to do as a business  began turning into WORK.  I suddenly found myself thinking that I HAD to learn a completely new set of new skills and I HAD to acquire those skills NOW.

Meanwhile, at the day job that pays all the bills, I found myself in the middle of a whole series of changes that I had no control over. After years of struggling to work for one difficult person, I found myself under a different difficult person. The fun that I could be having doing work with a product that I actually enjoyed disappeared in the muddle of office politics.

Today I found myself thinking once again that I should look for another job. It is difficult to turn away from the idea that the solution is to work elsewhere but the solution is not to go to work for yet someone else.

The solution is to build a new way of life and the way to get there is to play.
